Your use of the Landmark Historical Map and Data Collection through the Historic Digimap service: permissions and restrictions
NOTE: This licence does not affect use of the Land Use Map Viewer. Please consult the help pages within that service for its terms and conditions.
As an Authorised User of the Landmark Historical Map and Data Collection through the Historic Digimap service under the terms and conditions of your Institution’s sub-licence agreement you MAY do the following with the material made available through the Historic Digimap service:
access the service in order to search, retrieve, display and view, and otherwise use parts of the material;
electronically save parts of the material;
print out copies of parts of the material;
incorporate parts of the material in printed course packs and electronic course packs, study packs, course notes and virtual learning environments (VLEs) hosted on your institution’s secure network. If you do this you must include the relevant copyright notice (see below) each time.
incorporate parts of the material in assignments and portfolios, theses and dissertations (i.e. academic works). If you do this you must include the relevant copyright notice (see below) every time. Copies of these academic works may deposited in your institution’s library or in repositories, in accordance with your institution’s policy and practice.
display parts of the material in public as part of a presentation at a seminar, conference, or workshop, or other such similar activity;
print and use copies of the material as part of a Post Graduate Certificate in Education course in schools.
Any copied items incorporated in academic works or course packs must carry the following copyright notices:
As an Authorised User of the Landmark Historical Map and Data Collection, under the terms and conditions of your Institution’s sub-licence agreement you MAY NOT do the following:
sell any part of the material, or any copies of parts of the material, or use any part of it for any commercial use
remove, obscure or modify any copyright notices or other means of identification or disclaimers in the material.
make any part of the material accessible online, apart from via your institution’s own secure network.
make any part of the material available to anyone who is not an Authorised User of this resource.
use the resource or its material for anything other than educational purposes.
If in doubt about any of the above, please consult your institution’s Digimap Site Representative.
If your institution terminates its agreement for the Landmark Historical Map and Data Collection, you may keep any parts of the material you have made and continue to use them in line with the conditions above.
