The data available through Marine Digimap is NOT fit for navigational purposes. Using either the maps, data or service for navigation may endanger life since the data is not sufficiently up-to-date or accurate enough for navigational purposes. Data available through Marine Digimap is updated annually whereas navigational data is updated much more frequently, even daily in some cases.
EDINA are required to notify all users of this at every opportunity. This is why you are required to check a box prior to downloading data to indicate that you have understood the data to be unfit for navigational purposes.
If you require marine data for navigational purposes, please visit the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) website which gives details of suppliers and online retailers who supply data for navigation: http://www.ukho.gov.uk/
