Boreholes

Introduction

The British Geological Survey (BGS) Boreholes Index lists the locations of boreholes in the UK.  The dataset should be used in conjunction with the BGS's online borehole scans service:

http://www.bgs.ac.uk/data/boreholescans/home.html

Here you can view a scan of the Borehole log you have selected where available and not confidential. When using the downloaded index, the final attribute for each point is the BGS_ID. You can link to the online scan by adding the ID to the end of the following weblink:

http://scans.bgs.ac.uk/sobi_scans/boreholes/[insert BGS_ID here]

Remember that not all scans are available.
