The Download page of Historic Download allows you to name your order and submit an email address for the order confirmation to be sent to. The page also shows a summary table that allows you to review and alter the list of tiles in your order. Finally you can select your format and archiving options and submit your order.

Here you can give your order a name and put in an email address that you can easily access. When your order is ready to download you will be sent a link in an email. You will not be able to retrieve your data without the link in the email, so you must be able to access the inbox of the address you enter.
NOTE: If you do not fill in any of the Order Details then the Order Data button at the bottom of the page will remain un-clickable.
The summary table shows all the tiles you have selected for downloaded. If there were any tiles in your selection list on the last page you want to remove, such as those from overlapping counties or scales, then you can click on the their check boxes and use the Delete Selected button to remove them.
If you want to add more tiles back to the selection then you will need to click on the Search & Select Tiles box at the top of the page to return. Any changes made in the summary table will be reflected in the tile list on the Search & Select Tiles page.
At present there is only one format option for all the data in Historic Digimap however there may be more added in the future. The Zip Archive option should be taken by Windows PC users and the Tar and Gzipped options should be used by Mac and UNIX users.
Once you have placed your order you will see a message on the screen explaining that you will recieve an email when you order is ready, and that you must use the link in the email to retrieve your data. There is also a link to the my account page where you will be able to check on the status of your order.
Once your order is ready you will be sent an email to the address you entered on the download page. You will need to be logged into Historic Digimap before you click on the link in the email. If you are not logged in or your session has expired you will be prompted to log in again. NOTE You will need to click on the link again to get to your data after you have logged in again.
Click on the Download File Link on the page and a zip file will be downloaded to your computer. NOTE: The file will be downloaded to the location on your computer that you specify in your internet browser's preferences or settings.
