Digimap’s Pilot Collection provides access to data that we would like to evaluate against demand from the Digimap community. As such, the data included in Pilot Digimap are subject to revision and update and are available for limited periods of time. The availability dates are given in the Pilot Download interface. If you need to rely on the persistence of data within Pilot Digimap for your research or teaching please get in touch with us beforehand to discuss.
Pilot Digimap currently offers access to an EDINA Satellite data collection initially consisting of:
Both datasets are available in TIFF format at a scale of 1:20000.
From January 2024 to 31 July 2024 Pilot Digimap will offer the following data from Basemap:
In order to use the Speed Limit and Average Speed data, you will need to also download the OS MasterMap Highways data and join the speed data tables using the roadLinkID attribute. This will allow you to analyse and visualise the data. Data column headings are as follows (this information will be included with every download too):
This is the OS code for the link. This will be 100% matched to a particular OS Highways delivery. The latest data is attached to July 2023
This is a code that represents the road type. 3000 is Motorway, 3001 is A Road, 4001 is A Road Primary, 3002 is B Road, 4002 B Road Primary, 3004 Minor Road, 3007 Local Street, 4006 Local Access Road, 4009 Sec Access Road and 4007/4010 Restricted access roads.
This is the link length in metres
This indicates if the road is one way. 0 is a bidirectional road (so should have A and B speeds), -1 is a one way road in the opposite way of digitisation and 1 is a one way road in the way of digitisation. Both -1 and 1 will only have speeds in the A column.
